Welcome to the Undercliff Grill & Bar!

There is a lot of history under this cliff... in the mid 1800's a Mr. Tipton owned this land where the river was low enough for people traveling between Joplin and Neosho to make the crossing; the town that grew here was named "Tipton Ford". In 1928, Ab McConnell opened a general store on this site named Under Cliff, which is where our name originated. The store operated until 1961, when Frank & Bonnie's, known for their delicious fried chicken (which we do not serve), opened. In 1980, a fire destroyed the restaurant and the land remained vacant until Undercliff Grill & Bar was established, in February 1995.

Undercliff is a family owned and operated restaurant, serving fresh food to order. So, relax with your friends and family under the cliff while we prepare your order just the way you like it. The minutes you wait are the minutes that we spend making sure your visit to Undercliff is more than a meal! Our Supplies are limited, enjoy them while they last!
